I bought a new tactical Mini-14 in .223 and plan to test fire it in a few days, weather permitting. I usually break in my bolt action rifles by cleaning each shot for the first 5 rounds, and then swab the bore one time for each 5 rounds up to 25. I recently read an article on this practice and it might not be necessary, so I also might just clean it 1-2 for the first five, and then less so up to 25 rounds. This is a new gun, one of the improved models, do you think the break in method would be as important as a bolt action type?
Thanks.
