I like to wire the BACK of each spring to the bucket. I run a re-rod stake through the back to keep the buc from rolling. I use 50% square bucs 45% wood cubbies and only 5% round. You can also drill two holes in the side (middle) of buc/ inch apart/run a wire through and wire it to trees. This is easier in frozen ground. My bucs are screwed to den trees right now. A few feet up keeps snow out. 5 feet up keeps dogs out.
