USS SHARK again, carronade found etc., question.

I want to make sure I know what caliber of carronade was supposed to have been aboard USS SHARK.  I know DD mentioned 18 pounder, but I want to know what "the leading authorities" are saying and who they are.  I need to know for sure what the most authoritative opinion is on this.  What did the experts say after they x-rayed the carronade?  Was it different from what was thought prior to that?

Thanks DD..  I'm sure that was the initial outfitting of the ship back in 1821, but ship armament changed frequently, and what I really wanted to know was what the experts were saying the ship had onboard when she was lost in Oregon in what, 1846 or 7?  I found one article that has one opinion, I suppose there are more sources with more opinions:
