Is there anyone else out there anal over time.

I have always been anal over time. If I have more than one watch they have to match to the second. I am sure this is some type of compulsive disorder thing but it bugs the hell out of me to have different clocks in the house being off by a minute or two. I have 2 watches and my computer that are all set to to the offical US time down to the second. Ok call me anal about it but I have have a brother that his hands can not be clean enough. He washes them all the time. Do any of you have a problem with the time being just right? Or is there another thing that just gets your goat if it is just not right. I am a trim carpenter also and things have to be perfect there also. Tell me about your quriks. Dale

well judging by your screenname you're self imployed even during this crap economy.... obsessive compulsive seems to work for you just fine.


I used to be hardcore, couldn't step on cracks, had to wash my hands non-stop, would thoroughly scrub public restroom toilets before using them (I'd put handsoap on toilet paper and clean them if I had no choice!!!) but now I'm a slob.  You can get over it, you just have to go to a 3rd world country a few times.... now I pick my nose and chew tobacco.  I tell you there is hope (I go ape on my gun cleaning sometimes though, and my handloading- so it's got it's uses).

Hung up my watch on Sep. 28, 1995 the day I retired and haven't picked one up since. No two clocks in our house are set to the same time. Most are within 10-15 minutes of each other at least.

Time has no meaning to me, I'm retired, what the heck do I care what time it is or for that matter even what day it is.  :o ;D

Now I do wash my hands a lot, way more than most folks do for sure.

Near as I can tell, the only quirk I have is that I have no quirks.  Or so it seems to me.  My wife would probably have a different opinion, but that has always been one of her quirks.

no watch for years like bill sometimes have to check the newspaper to get the date because the closest i can get off hand is the month.  Retirement is really great once you get used to it.

Stopped wearin or carryin a watch in 19 and 75---too many of em around--and I doan wear jewlery.
We are all anal about something. Me, I am anal about things working the way they should---from lawnmowers to Guns.

 Years ago a friend and I were stopped at a light, and a homeless guy with a shopping cart piled with stuff was crossing the street in front of us. As he was tipping the front wheels to get up the curb, a small radio tumbled to the street and broke into pieces. My buddy busted out laughing.

 I said "What's so funny? What if you broke YOUR radio?"

 He said "It's not a radio, it's an alarm clock. I have one just like it. What's funny is the cord! It won't keep time too good unless it's plugged in, and why does a bum need an ALARM CLOCK anyway? Gotta be at work on time? LOL!"

 Anyway, one quirk I have is that I can't stand seeing cabinets and drawers left open, even partially. Seems my Wife can't stand to see them closed!

I just like for folks to be on time.  There is nothing more disrespectful than being late.  Time is the one thing I can't buy......don't waste my time.

My wife seems to have the weather channel on several hours a day.  When I ask her what the weather is, she yells at me "I don't know, do I look like a thermometer?"  And I am not sure why I care much, I wear pretty much the same thing every day anyway.

I like to leave lights on in the evening if I leave a room and plan to return in a few minutes.  She wants everything turned off.

I care about time -- worked in and around factories most of my career, so it's a habit.  But one or two minutes I can live with.

I have a few quirks. The hand washing thing, and when the wife and I leave home together, I lock the door, and will at times get out of the truck and check it again. Could just be CRS

There is only ONE correct time on this earth per time zone* so I would like to be on that time.

 well i was going through a second childhood until the wife got sick..
 now im sick of tv an all this inside the house stuff.. but i sure enjoyed it while it lasted .. sometimes id walk five miles in the peace of the woods..dale as to quirks .. mine is not putting stuff off.. to me if it needs doing ,do it now..
life has taught me the whys, of that.. slim
 heck i ll likely forget to do it ..if i don t ;D
