If ya don't wanna poke holes in it, why not try a primitive sling?

This is my solution and I think it fits the aesthetic angle well. I really like my 1907 slings too and was thinking about a custom length Turner but like the muzzleloader sling look a tad bit more on my 45LC BC.

I made similar sling using cow hide.
Definitely good looking and does not damage the rifle.

I couldn't agree more, It really fits the baby BC look and serves the purpose. When I plink with my M1A I use a turner 1907 because the tool fits the purpose but the BC is well served by the utilitarian example I choose.

PS When it's your rifle do what ever the heck ya wanna do, K!  ;D

The only bad thing about the barrel bands is you have to take the front sight off to get them on  >:(

BB's Are classic but I reserve them for my century + old Mausers............. If you like them then please do but Buckskin is my flavor on my BC's.

For what it's worth, which ain't much, I don't like slings on old timey guns.  It's sort of like puttin' a bowquiver on a longbow, or jacketed bullets over a blackpowder load.  Much more convenient to have those things, but somehow, they just don't fit.  That said, I would betcha that the old timers shooting flintlock longrifles found a way to attach a strap, 'specially if'n they had a ways to go.

I've used the primitive sling on my traditional MLs for years, and yes they add to the rifle rather than detract from it.
