3 Hours, 41 Minutes, and 29 seconds

That is the amount of sunlight we can have today.  Problem is that it is so cloudy we can not see the sun.  -5 degrees at midday.  If the clouds were not here it would be a lot colder than that. 

From this point on the days will be getting longer.  After a few weeks we sill be gaining 6 to 8 minutes a day.  For a few days on each side of the solstice the loss and gains are almost stagnate.

Not looking forward to those severe clear days, when the temp will drop to -50 to -65 or colder.  We're not talking chill factor here folks, we are talking straight temperature.  And they wonder why6 Cabin Fever (Depression) is epidemic up here.  That's why I go to Florida every year.  Rog

Cabin fever would not be the start of it.  This old Ga. boy would have no idea how to survive in those temps. 
At 56 years of age, there I would be a greenhorn.

Sat out on the back patio for an hour in my sweats, soakin in the sun with the pups laying down at my feet, in this balmy 26* weather. To think a week ago, it was minus 20. Really enjoyed the rays. I also have a grow light turned on when I'm using the computer. Keeps me happy. ;D

SOURDOUGH. I wouldn't want to have to deal with temps like that or lack of daylight. I know guys who work in a rock quarry 6 days a week, deep inside. All winter they go to work in the dark and go home in the dark. Only sun they see is on Sunday, if it's out that is. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D

Well we got a little break in the winter temps yesterday in Oklahoma.
My thermo read 67 degrees yesterday afternoon. :o
I took advantage of it and sneaked off work and got a little casting in.
Something to keep me busy when the cold comes later. ;)

BUMMER! Honestly I don't understand how anyone lives in those conditions without going off the deep end. I'm kinda stressed cause we are down to an even 10 hours of sunlight right now. The low early last week was 12 degrees. It was COLD. Then the high last Friday was 69. I think that's one reason the cold bothers me so much. You never have time to get used to anything around here. Of course I don't want to get used to really cold weather.  ;D If it just got cold and stayed that way here I'd move. Probably to Yuma. Lot's of retirees around here head for southern Arizona or down in the Texas valley for the winter. I've done around Yuma a couple of times and the Corpus Christi area once. It's nice but I get bored quickly. I can only go to so many garage sales, swap meets, and play cards so many times before I'm ready to just go home. If I lived there and had my shop and tools it would be OK but then it will become summer and you would have to deal with the heat. Guess I'll just stay where I am.
