new here so be kind
« on: December 23, 2009, 04:45:53 AM »
I know that this may have allready been asked and I am sorry in advance if it has been covered .
I was looking at this classified section and see all of these barrels for sale . When you purchase one
do you then have to have it sent off to be fitted or is it something done at home ? Is there some sort of
saftey issues with just putting a barrel on a frame . I would also like to know what mods would have to be
done to make a .44 or .357 work on a SB1 frame . thank you and again I am sorry if this is beating a dead horse .
I would like to thank my grand father
for a man that couldnt read or write he
taught me so much and forgot more than I
will ever know

You may have to do some fitting. I have had 3 out of 4 barrels fit that I bought from the classifieds but have tried some barrels from  friends rifles that need fitting. The FAQ's are really helpful and in truth it is a pretty simple operation.  Yes you can fit a 357 or 44 magnum barrel to an SB1 frame but I would prefer it to be a newer frame myself.

I would recommend checking the FAQ section. CTRL+F to find the topic you are hunting. Tim and others have been a great resource to me in my newly started Handi journey!!!!!!!!!!
Live simple. Hunt Hard. Love Life.

I thank God everyday for my loving wife and all the fond memories of hunting with my Papa from a child until now.

Please take time to take a kid hunting, it will be a life long memory and blessing for both of you!

thanks for the info . I looked at the gun and the SN codes match it to 1990. I think
that sounds about right . This was my first shot gun  pardner .410 . I would like to get
the 20ga barrel w/ vent rib and choke and if it is safe to do so the .357 would be great .

thanks again
