Better then most other Gamo, less plastic used an far more powerful.

The one I shot (.22 calibre) launched 15,56 H&N Field Target Trophys at a genuine 900 fps for 28 ft/lbs.

Equal powerful as the RWS350M or the Beeman Kodiak compared for the same calibre.

Some recoil, as in all magnum springers, and quit a lot of "twaaang".

Verdict:

Yes - if raw power is your thing, but remember that a scope and mounts that could survive on this kind of springer never comes cheap. This is power at PCP level. Accuracy is acceptable. Long and heavy, very high cocking effort.

No - a smaller and cheaper springer can do 99% of all airgunning tasks just as good, smoother and easier. They also use to have better practical accuracy.

My choice:

If I had a lot of other guns and some money to burn, but not as only airgun. I would save up money and buy a PCP instead - far better accuracy and equal powerlevel. If I were on a tight budget I would get a Benji instead.

Overpriced for what you get and Gamo is the pits when it comes to backing up their product. Very important if you have problems with your rifle and with Gamo you WILL have problems. RWS is a much better air rifle and the company backs up their products. Lawdog

Perhaps in the US but in Europe things are the other way around.

Here there is no problem with their product support, neither with their pricing.

I had a Gamo 1250. Not a bad gun overall. Trigger was LOUSY! IF Gamo would do some work in this area.... Fit/finish was actually pretty good. Much better than your typical Gamo. One fly in the ointment is Gamo has no parts department in the US. I had to BEG to get a breech seal(they wear QUICKLY on Gamos) for a Shadow. Mine was also powerful. WAY too much velocity for a .177 spring gun. Gamo doesn't even make a .177 pellet suitable for the 1250. Only the heavier .177 pellets are suitable and those are not available locally. The 1250 would make a MUCH better .22.

Consider this, for close to the same money, one can purchase an R-1 or a Webley Patriot. Why even CONSIDER the Gamo 1250. Either gun is leaps and bounds above the 1250 in terms of well, EVERYTHING.

No brainer here.
