Anybody ever wonder what this site is worth?
« on: December 23, 2009, 05:54:22 PM »
I was playing around tonight looking at stats on us online and found a site that purports to give dollar value to websites. It says GBO is worth (are you sitting down? Don't want ya to pass out and fall on the floor now) gboreloaded.com is worth $1,843,336. Wanna see it for yourself?
http://stimator.com/go2gbo-com

Looking a bit further in other areas I found we are number 515,001 in the entire world in site rank and in the US only well inside the top 200,000 but I forget the exact number now around 150,000 I think. That's all sites in the entire world and all in the entire US. There have to be a billion world wide at least.

Iffen any of ya wanna buy at the value above drop me a line.  :o

From my enjoyment here I'd say its priceless.
Now if you could get a buyer at that price I'd say go for it.
But I'd sure hate to see anybody mess with the standards or format.

Merry Christmas GB - great job here.

Hey with that kind money I could be a member of most anything perhaps even a country club.  :o

Nah, I don't think I'd fit in at a country club very well but I could afford to shoot skeet again.  ;D

Believe me if someone actually offered us that kinda money for the site we'd sell but that's not an offer to buy it's just someone's estimate of what the site is worth. How the heck they came up with that value I have no clue.

We did play around on the site comparing us to several other sites with similar content and generally our size and a few others larger and different. None of them for whatever reason even came close to what the valued our site at. What kinda made us wonder is that Google was valued at only $37,000,000 and I'm not sure that many billions would buy it. On the other hand huge AR15.com was valued far less than us. I'm not at all sure what to make of the valuations on the site. I just thought it an interesting thing to mention not that it really means much to our operations.

Shoulda sold it this morning cause now it says it is only worth $20,117. Quite the depreciation for only 8hrs later. That pretty much tells ya that that site is basically full of crap.

It also rates the site as "poor", which also proves they dont know nothin ;).

Keep up the good work. Only the members here really know what it is worth

This sight is the only one of this type I visit. I think its a very well managed site, and everyone that posts here shares my interests. One of the things I like most about it is that filthy language is not permitted, like you see on some other forums.

You guys do a great job, and I just want to say thank you to all who are involved with making this the best site out there.

Also Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all at GB.  May God's peace be with you.

I don't know if this site could exist without you & Faye along with Matt & Heather and the Moderators

It is a unique site---the members need little or very little moderating---they have a sense of right/wrong--good/bad--appropriate/inappropriate.
I like it here because the moderators and staff are balanced and not dictorial. OH, I know there have been some concerns but it is really a great site.
BTW---Merry Christmas too all.
Blessings

Wow now it's down to only $7327, talk about deflation of value and just over night. Last night the rating was very high and this morning poor. As I kinda figured when I saw how they ranked AR15.com and Google they really aren't very knowledgeable of real values.

Still I wonder how the heck it changed so over night.

A site is worth what someone will pay for it, no more no less. I can't see anyone ever giving so much for it but in reality it would take a multimillion dollar offer to buy it from us. So until then worry not we'll keep plodding along as is and we'll all do the best we can together.

I wonder if the value going down is like checking on your credit rating. I was told by a bank manager several years ago, the more you check on your credit rating, they may drop your score a .1 or .2. So the wife and I checked it once about a year ago, and since it was fine, never checked it again.
This is the only site like this that I ever log on to. I'm registered at a couple others, but never seem to think of them. gypsyman

Wow It is dropping fast. The value now is $1,874. I always did wonder what it was worth though. I figured it was worth over $1,000,000 all along. Dale

Wow!  The value fluctuates wildly.  A minute ago it was valued at almost $97,000.  I went back less than a minute later and it was at $996.   That site is less than worthless.

Did you notice your lights flicker this morning?  The flickering was caused by the Alabama Department of Revenue and the IRS kicking on their computers to see what Bill did with all his money he pulled out.  Yep, they are checking bank accounts, and transfer of funds to Off-Shore accounts.

An Air Force Predator operator is puzzled how an IRS Agent managed to highjack a drone to fly over and take IR pictures of a guy’s property in NE Alabama.  They are looking for fresh digging.  If they find digging they expect to find buried cash.  The berries they find are just camouflage.

The hectic daughter-in-law now has a gps track device attached to the frame of her vehicle.  She might be moving the cash.  Agents are advised to use caution; she is an expert in martial arts and might break an arm or leg.

The son’s computer octopus is being monitored by Obama who thinks it holds the key to funding health care, and the Governor of Alabama hopes cash will flow from it into the State Treasury creating a surplus.

Santa is hoping Bill will keep the lights on tonight with the heavy rain and thunder showers predicted.  Santa wants to unload that package from Remington and avoid a mid-air with that government drone at the same time.

Merry Christmas Bill and Family

this is a great sight. i'm fairly new to it, but have already found alot of useful info and wisdom. i also like how well mannered everyone is. it makes the world a brighter place to know that there's alot more people out there that think like i do, besides me and a small group of freinds. it is depressing to watch tv. it seems like everyone on tv is a super libral, gay, animal rights activist. not trying to turn this thread into something political, just showing my appreciation. forgive my spelling and thanks.

Just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so is value of anything.  I've got an old damascus side hammer double that might bring $25.00 as a wall ornament.  I would not sell it for all the money in the world, for my grandpa taught me to shoot with it over 50 years ago.

This site is worth the value of the knowledge of all it's members, and that sirs, is incalculable.

Yup Billy I have to agree that site is pretty worthless. Quite honestly I wondered last night how the heck it could be worth close to $2 million but that they said so seemed worth a comment and the fun it would bring. That they valued huge AR15.com at less told me they really didn't have a clue and that they valued Google in millions not billions was yet another. When I looked at other sites similar to this one with similar size valued far less I again knew it wasn't to be taken too seriously but it was a fun exercise in a flight of fantasy that we were worth potentially that much. It's a good thing we're not taxed on what they thought the site was worth last night instead of the small amount it brings in each year in real money.  :o
