The striker on the lifter/striker assembly has broken on my sons Topper Model 88. Some one told him he could just replace the hammer with a older style hammer. I'm guessing this does away with the transfer bar assembly, and hammer then strikes firing pin directly. If this is possible, what hammer would he need to get? Would he need a different hammer spring as well? Any information, suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
