Senators L. Graham And B. Nelson Donations Compared
« on: December 25, 2009, 02:03:00 AM »
Who would have ever believed that wonderfully conservative US senator Lindsay Graham is in the pockets of the ambulance chasers?  Seems like old Lindsay has taken twice as much money from lawyers as that awful liberal Democrat Ben Nelson.  Kind of gives a hollow ring to Republican demands for tort reform.

Gosh alsaqr. It seems the "lessor of two evils" might actually be the "MORE of two evils". But hey! Their conservatives these Republicans. I mean they said so.
I guess the moral of the story is: You get what you PAY for. They sure PAID a lot.
I'm sure there are some Pseudo Conservative that will justify this guy since he's not as bad as the OTHER liberals. ::)

I must have missed something; I've never heard Lindsay Graham described as a conservative.  I don't think he is a communist, but that's about as far as I would go.  There are damn few Dumbycrats that that can be said of.

magooch, not to start an argument, but why is the Democrat a communist, and the Republican Lindsay Graham NOT a communist in your estimation? In many cases he (Graham) has DOUBLED his contributions from the same groups as the Democrat.
The only difference I see, is the Democrat is UP FRONT in their screwing us around and the Republican has the knife in our back, instead of our gut, where we can't see it.

Yep, lots of "conservatives" say that Graham is their man and that he is the lesser of two evils.  In Graham's case the lesser of two evils is still awfully evil.

There is one donation that puts the lie to Lindsay Graham and everything he claims to stand for:

Old Lindsay calls himself  a "conservative."  Certainly a "family values" Republican would not lie.

Graham is a left-wing democrat if you look at what he does instead of what he says. He is quick to get in front of any camera and pretend to be the spokesman for the Republicans, but he is anything but.

The one thing that confuses me about this thread is why Conservative Rep. & Graham mentioned together.
Did anyone here believe that to begin with?  ??? The rule of thumb with ALL polititians is to watch what they do & NOT what they say.

nomosendero, I have been saying that for years. All I seem to accomplish is to offend the Pseudo Conservatives whom THINK OR CLAIM, their True Conservatives but, vote for the likes of Graham and others.

Too many lawyers actually in congress. That's partly what's wrong with it.

Lawyers should never be allowed to run for public office..........They should only be allowed to run for the hills!

Remember this, from old tried and true, chinless spineless, republican Graham back last summer.
Tuesday, July 28, 2009

It was nearly a party-line vote.  While every Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee voted in favor of Judge Sonia Sotomayor today, almost every Republican voted against her... all except for turncoat Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
Freedom Of Speech.....Once we lose it, every other freedom will follow.

A couple of years ago there were 60 lawyers in the US senate.  Not sure what the count is now but I doubt that it is any lower.  Lawyers in congress have over-complicated government with their proliferation of new laws and regulations.  White house lawyers prevented the US from taking custody of Osama bin Laden when he was handed over on a silver platter.

One thing for sure, their is never going to be any tort reform at a national level so long as Democrats and Republicans in congress are in the pockets of the trial lawyers.

Dee, it's just that I don't necessarily believe that a politician's philosophy can be assessed on the basis of who contributes to them.  On the other hand, their philosophy can, in my judgement, be evaluated by the party they choose to run with--in most cases.  At least that's how I see it.

Lindsay Graham is a lawyer, so it doesn't surprise me that he gets contributions from them.  I kind of put Senator Graham in the same basket with John McCain.  This type likes to walk the fence and think of themselves as independent to a fault.  They haven't come to the realization that the Dumbycrats are the enemy.

magooch, while I agree to a point, you CAN judge a book by it's content. Voting records are PUBLIC records. While I am fully aware that the majority of voters will probably NEVER back an Independent in a major race UNTIL this country has hit bottom. I feel compelled by my morality to BACK THE PRO CONSTITUTIONAL CANDIATE.
It IS possible to find such a candidate, and it IS possible to vote for them. Will they win? Probably not, until the country hits bottom, but it IS the right thing to do, to vote for the HONEST candidate.
The Republicans have had their chance and failed miserably. The Democrats also. How much failure from both parties does it take to admit the lessor of two evils isn't working?
America is voting it's freedoms away with this theology.
