Pope looking much handsomer lately
« on: December 25, 2009, 04:49:08 AM »
Have you noticed that the Pope is a lot more handsome now than he was when he was first given the job? No more sunken baggy eyes. Friendlier looking. More grandfatherly. Good for him.

Nope I haven't but then I have no clue who the pope is or what he looks like and honestly I care even less than I know about him.  ::)

i may be mistaken about this, but did i see on the news where a woman rushed out of crowd at one of his public appearances and either accidently of on purpose knocked him down and had a tussle with security?sometimes being too handsome can be such a burden!

couldnt care less.   to my point of view, i think the catholics got a few things messed up, and the biggest example i can put out there is the pedestal that they put a MAN on.   i have heard many catholics say "i prayed to the pope"!!!!  if this is not a false god i do not know what is.  i pray to God.  period.   the way people turn out to see him, and they have made him an idol.   it is wrong in so many ways that i dont even know where to begin.

I'm surprised by the response. I guess I never thought about it. My wife is Catholic, so I just tolerate it. It seems every religion has its quirks. I just figured it was interesting because he's a world figure who is important to a lot of people.

Seems like a pretty decent guy. I grew up Catholic, but I'm now a fundamental evangelical, bible thumper. Much truer to Christianity, for me.  But this pope is very compassionate, and has a real life history. He's been there done that. Can't fault him. He lives his spiritual beliefs.

He appologized to the Godless ones for telling the truth, because they were offended. He should tell the world what islam is and appologize to no one for it. All the religious leaders should do the same, tell it like it is.   POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(

Interesting. I spent many years as a John R. Rice, Bob Jones, Sword-of-the-Lord Jack Chick tract-reading fundamentalists, and I find myself getting ever closer to Rome.

Don't know much about the current Pope, the former Cardinal Ratzinger; I do know that John Paul II was a tremendously signficant Pope & a godly man.

Fundamentalist like to dis Catholics; I know all about that. The Catholic church has gotten wrong, and then corrected, more things than most fundamentalists will ever even learn. Yep - I'm getting closer to Rome.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

When you get into religions, every one of those organizations have their share of scandals, and arrogant SOB's, some of which would rival the extremism of Islamic screamers. It is the human factor that spoils the nature of organizational religion. When you get into spritual beliefs, well, that's a different matter. There are deeply spiritual men of near every faith.
