A 1/4 scale Whitworth barrel would be about 25" long.  I would build it with either a .75 caliber or 1"bore.  I have a golf ball bore cannon that is a Howitzer with a reduced chamber.  That's the largest bore cannon barrel I'll be building.

And this might just possibly could be a breechloader?    8)
If it is built as a breechloader, I want one in 1" bore.

Could you possibly stretch that 1" to ~1.18"? I've got me a 30mm rifled tube here :)

Victor,

What is the o.d. of the barrel sleeve you have?  Is it tapered?
