Wondering if there's any N.H. residents here
« on: December 26, 2009, 01:35:23 AM »
I was just wondering if there's any N.H. handgunners here and if you can tell me if it's legal to hunt with a Handgun in that state. N.Y. is getting terrible with the taxes and gun laws and I am thinking about other states that have good fishing and hunting opertunities but the state has to have deer hunting with handguns. Thanks guys

Yes, handgun hunting is legal here in NH. If you handgun hunt in a rifle zone then basically any centerfire round is legal for deer. If you handgun hunt in an area where rifles are prohibited (shotgun/muzzleloader area) then you are limited to the following calibers - .357 Magnum, 10mm Auto, .41 Rem, .44 Magnum, .45 Long Colt, .480 Ruger or .500 Magnum. This area is the southeastern part of the state near the Mass border out to the seacoast. The rest of the state is mostly rifle anyway.
"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves."

---- William Pitt (the Younger), Speech in the House of Commons, November 18, 1783
