Storing fur
« on: December 27, 2009, 12:55:29 PM »
I skinned a couple of beaver out today.   My kids are wanting to have them mounted on felt and hung on their walls.   Is there a special way I should store them until we decide what we're going to do with them?   Is there soemone you would recommend to tan them and mount them on felt?

Roll the fur up --fur side out.Make sure all flesh from the skin side is not exposed.Place in a heavy freezer bag, squeeze all the air out and put in the freezer.
At this time,I cannot think of anyone who does the felt. You may want to send it to Moyles for tanning, and see if someone locally will put the felt on for you.
