How large caliber on Handi Reciever ?

I was wondering how large of caliber I can go with on versa pack reciver its not marked sb1 or 2 would 30-30-or 243  posibly 280 rem. work with this reciver  I'am thinking of building another rifle and I allready have this reciever so I figured why not use it .

with a versa pack, stick with shotguns or the rimfired... I had a nice chat with a gent up at H&R Cust. Support about that.

The Versa Pack frame is an SB1, it would work with a 357mag or 44mag if you fit them yourself, but H&R won't fit any other barrels to it, at least that was Gardner's policy, I doubt Ilion will either, but you can always call and ask, just give them the frame serial number and see what they say, see the Versa Pack sticky.

when I gave them my SN, they couldnt determine if it was SB1 or SB2.

But, Tim, you are much more knowledgeable on this so I will let you give advice. I'm still a pup here

I suspected as much for the same reason they have no information on the Wesson & Harrington rifles, the info was lost when Gardner closed, the Versa Pack was discontinued before Remington bought H&R.  :-\
