I believe the 22/250 Tikka has a 1/8" twist but don't hold me to it.  I know Tikka makes T3's in 223Rem in either 1/8" or 1/12" versions.  It is fairly easy to find a rifle barrels rate of twist by taking the UNLOADED rifle and inserting  a cleaning rod with a snug patch 2/3 way down the length of the barrel from the muzzle end, then make two small marks on the cleaning rod, one to mark the junction of cleaning rod/barrel and another mark above it so that you can watch it to see when the rod has made a full 360 degree rotation when the rod is slowing drawn back toward the muzzle.  When the rod has turned one revolution stop moving the cleaning rod and mark the rod at the rod/barrel junction again and remove the cleaning rod from the bore and measure the distance between the two junction marks and this distance is the rate of twist.

No, I got smart and looked on their site, 1x14, everyone seems to use that twist. My AR is 1x7, wish my 22-250's were 1x9 or 1x8

I have loaded for two 22/250's and they both had 1/12" twist and I don't think I would like them turning any slower.   I don't know if a 1/14" will stabilize a 55 grain cup and core bullet very well, but I don't know that from personal experience.  It might, but I would think a handloader would have to really load them hot to get them spinning fast enough.  Just my ramblings.

I would like to shoot heavier bullets, 70-85 grain. My 4 22-250's do very well with 45 to 55 grain bullets,

Buddy of mine just got a Tikka t-3 hunter in 22-250 and it's a 1/14 twist and for barrel break he  just went out and shot some PD he got acouple boxes of factory loaded with 55gr bullets and they shot real good.  I've got the rifle now going to work up afew loads with 50/55gr bullets going to try some Tac and Scot 32 powder.  Out of the box accuracy with that rifle is pretty good.  Well good luck with your t-3.
