The Republican Party sent Palin the $50,000.00 lawyers bill that was charged for vetting her for the Vice Presidential run. They didn't tell her she would be charged, and in fact never mentioned there would be a bill.
Upon receiving it, due to the numerous other legal fees for frivolous investigations, she called and asked the Republican to pay the bill, and they refused. She asked if they would at least pay part of it. They again refused.
They advised Palin that if they had won, the Republican Party would have paid all of the bill, but since they did not, she had to pay all of it. Another gotcha by the Republican machine.
Ahhhh yes! The Great Republican Party takes care of it's own.

Why anyone would support these jackasses is beyond me. They continually screw one another, and to actually expect them to take care of us is ludacris.

What a mess. Wondering if she would have gotten the bill, if she hadn't written the book? A little vicious payback is it? Maybe she'll have enough fodder for another book...

She was actually billed long before she wrote the book. So payback was not the motive.

I think it's important that this information gets out to many people at this time. I'm hearing independents are gaining some ground, and its this type of
information that is critical in bringing conservatives around that think they are stuck voting republican and nothing else. (my wife!) It's not easy to get some conservative types voting different, ask me how I know, but this kind of information helps a ton.

I like Palin...don't agree with her on everything (the current wars)....but agree with her on most all other things and realize that nobody will be all things to all people anyway. I think she has "sand"....and I don't need to agree with somebody on everything if they have guts.

I totally understand where your coming from, I get my ears filled a few times a week. I have moved away from all that, and maybe I don't have a chance at all...your probably right on. Maybe someday I will though, after more time goes by with things staying pretty bad. I usually do listen to my wife by the way on most things, gotta keep the peace when I can. About the only thing we don't agree on is voting these days. I jumped off the republican ship a while back. I'm still floating without them. What a discovery that was for me.

the republicants keep losing, the third party will slowly gain steam. there isnt much difference between the dems and the 'cants. the only real difference is the dems know how to play politics. the cant's are weak and feeble. i could care less if the cant's keep losing. i would rather get screwed over by the dems, at least they are doing what they said they would. the 'cants try to pussy-foot around and i am sick of them. the only time they show some real grit is when they are attacking someone who actually could revive their silly "party" and bring it back from the brink of destruction. screw the republicants.

I may be naive about the election process as far as getting on the ticket and all, but I think she should run in the next Presidential primaries as a republican again. She will soon see where she stands!

so be it. the republicans are pretty much the same way, and palin is the first one on the scene i have seen that could change that; and look at what they are trying to do to her. the only way i vote republican is if she is the presidential canidate.

She should send them a bill for $100,000 for the extra votes she got their ticket over what the old RINO would have gotten without her. Unless this is standard procedure all politicians are aware of or she was made aware up front the charge is bogus and should be treated as such.

What the Republicans have done in this case, diminishes themselves in a major way. They should be ashamed..

Perhaps this is the best opportunity for a 3rd party, but can they do it ? Who knows, but I'll back any third party that looks like the Tea Party...at least until there looks like danger that the Socialist/Marxists can get back in. I will not stand back and let the socialists get a cheap win, however.
The most conservative, traditional values candidate will always get my vote.

The republican party is dead.

There was a funny commentary on public radio this morning that included a comment on how something totally unimportant had "all the significance of a Michael Steele press release". It would not have been funny if it were not true.

I keep repeating this thing about the republican party being dead as a mantra. Don't confuse me with a liberal. I want a robust two party system that has the creative conflict that only such a system can have. Unfortunately we don't have that now. We have one party and a dead party.

The way I see it Rudy is we have the left and right hand of the same party now. MOST admittedly NOT all politicians at least at the national level work for the same group of super rich folks and do their bidding not that of the public they are supposed to serve.

There are still a few decent folks in Congress but they are few and far between. The only salvation for this country is for both parties to be done away with and all in DC to be fired and sent packing never to be allowed in public office again. Then we need to start over from scratch with no parties whatsoever and let folks run on their merit. We need term limits and a minimal salary for the positions. Originally folks were elected to serve the people and do the bidding of the people. Now it has become a career for them and it is not the public being served but rather they are doing all within their power to harm the public and to end the US Constitution. I'm not foolish enough to believe this can be brought about by voting folks out nor am I foolish enough to believe enough folks will rise up with indignation and physically toss them out. Baring one or the other tho this nation is heading for hell on a down hill slope and that slope is covered in slick ice and the sled has no brakes.

? This doesn't seem right. AND IT MAY NOT BE QUITE ACCURATE - this is something she wrote in her book, apparently, and is disputed.

and no lawyer. NONE. Apologies to an attorneys on this board - but the business of the law is make MORE business for the law. NO LAWYERS. If I'm elected, I'll be generous and forgo shooting them.
