I think that's the first CW song I've ever listened to from beginning to end. It's not bad.  I'm more into classical music and I've got Beethoven on the stereo right now. Patricia Kaas, the French blues singer will also get me to my feet.

I am like GB, I don't lesson to music much anymore. I don't know what that is that they are playing on the modern country stations but it's not country! There is one local low power station that play old time country, I lesson to it when I can get it.

I like it, has a good message. Just 'cause he's not one of the good ol' boys yet doesn't deny his talent. Even Kid Rock has some good messages in SOME of his songs.

The attached video may be a little rough around the edges for some.  This is David Allen Coe, a true talent in every respect. Check out the videos.

Lordy boys--I got so wrapped up in this I couldn't pu it away.
If I wasn't so old I would go roll me a few, and sit with a jug and let the music roll on.
Mellow in my mind.
Blessings

I just listened to all 12 parts.  Thanks for linking that.  I've always loved Willy... He has a couple of the top 20 country songs of all time.  Kris wrote one of the best songs of all time in any genre... Johnny had a unique sound and powerful personality.  I've never really been crazy about Waylon.

I miss John Denver...

How many songs has Willy written that others have made a fortune out of---Patsy and "Crazy", so many others.
I liked Walyon and Coe.
Hank Snow had a "very" intersesting life.
There is somebody name of George that has two stepped it his way for 35 years.
Possum--you are one of a kind.
Hank Thompson would have been king if he was 20 years before his time.
Then there is that "Waltz Across Texas With You" feller.
AND "Bob Will's IS Still The King."
I have Heard Coe's song that was on the play list that the title can't even be written--Somewhere in Austin about 19 and 64.
How did I ever get out alive----Well why did I even want to get out alive.
Armidillo World Headquarters---and I was there--under a table.
Boys, you can have your own music and I am proud for you---but you haven't lived if you haven't been to Vetrans Hall with Tex, Ernest and others----you don't know what life is if you haven't dodged the beer bottles and knives in "Cut and Shoot."  You didn't even have to be legal, but you couldn't run a tab.
Lu Ann's and The Big Oak--where Possum started and most of us almost died.
Blessings

Well I am no David Allen Coe fan. He wanted to be a tough guy and was always bragging about being in prison. Well being in prison don't mean you are tough, it just means you are stupid!

Dave Coe is just Dave Coe--not on the edge---way beyond the pale.
Some of his music is VERY good and some is just too raw.
Seems he comes at most folks the same way---He started going to reform school when he was 9. He susposidly killed a man in prison who tried to rape him.
His voice was first class and his mind sharp. Stupid sometimes comes from growing up mean.
His liver and lungs have a bet on which one outlast the other.
He was the first true red neck rebel.
Blessings

David Allen Coe is a piece of crap drug addicted  scum bag. And yes I know him, I spent a week having to cater to him about 8 years or so ago. Ever wonder why there are so many fights at his shows.... cause he will not let the venue use AC... kills his buzz.  I do like a few of his songs but as a person I would not piss on him if he was on fire.
