Simmons 22mag on sportster
« on: January 01, 2010, 05:18:39 AM »
Has anyone used this scope on the .22 sportster? I would like to know if you had any clearance issues with the hammer spur. Also did you have enough W/E adjustment. I would be using the NEF rail.

I have used one on a Sportster and it worked very well. The room for clearance of the hammer is also a function of the scope rings (hieght) that you use. I musy be having a brain cramp from staying up until midnight last night, what does W/E adjustment refer to? Also, I consider the standard or Ultra H&R/NEF scope rails the best for these guns because of the greater number of cross slots which allow for more mounting locations for the rings....<><....:)

Thanks for the reply MSP RET. I was worried that with tall rings I would not have enough elevation adjustment. I am currently using a reddot so clearance is not an issue.

No problem at all with windage and elevation adjustment. And I have had good luck with medium rings on most of my H&R scope mounts....<><....:)
