Can a 7mm Remington Magnum action be used to build a 300 Win mag rifle ? This is a remington 700 action I'm talking about . I think the action will work , but will the bolt work , or will that have to change?????? Thanks for any help.

I believe most belted magnum actions are the same length and have about the same boltface.  It should work.  If nobody here has tried that before and can come up with a answer for you then I would suggest running this question past the gunnut69, the moderator of the Gunsmithing Forum.

Yes. All Remington LONG actions which a 7mm Rem Mag is will work with any of the belted magnum rounds. Bolt head is correct and action and magazine are long enough to fit fine.

Actually, you might be able to get away with an even simpler/cheaper rebore to the .300's .308" from the 7mm's  .284".

Check the respective cartridge diagrams for their case dimensions.

It will work with all the Win belted mags 264, 300, 338, and 458.  Add to that 257 Wby mag, 7mm Rem mag. They are all the same length as 30-06
The 375, 300 H&H, 300 WBY, 8mm Rem Mag are the same length and need to have a true Magnum action.
All share the same rim of the 375H&H parent case.
