Ok, well I just ordered the Ultra Slug hunter from sman and it comes with a 10 ga barrel so I'm tryin to decide what I want to do with the barrel. I definately want a dedicated receiver as I don't get into swapping barrels every time I want to shoot something different. It has an extra full choke and if memory serves me correctly has like a 24" barrel. I'm assuming its for turkey hunting, which I don't do.
Here's what I'm thinking. I want to cut the barrel down to 16.5" and put it on a receiver with a youth stock (they are shorter, right?) and keep it in my truck. My question is, will that be too much gun for what I'm wanting. I want something where if I'm on the place and see a critter I can throw it out the window of the truck and kaboom...or while I'm walking the property it will give me a light weight snake/ critter gun. Am I gonna be sore(ly) disappointed first time I shoot it?
And what receiver do I need for the barrel? Sb2? Or is there a specific one for shotguns?
Thanks
