New concept
« on: January 03, 2010, 08:45:11 AM »
Just wondering if this might be a reasonable concept for say a 410/45 LC or one of the pistol cart. calibers. Heck after a couple of beers maybe the ole 45/70 ;D :o :(
H&R/NEF 10, 12,16 20 28 ,410 .243 45 357 45lc. 1919a4, uzi, sten mK 2,3,5 M2HB, 1917a1, ak74(2) amd 65, RPK (2) 11 aks and 50 other guns....

As long as it has a minimum overall length of 26" and a barrel that's at least 18" for a shotgun or 16" for any rifle/pistol chambering, it would be legal I think, being practical is another matter tho.

in the 45/70 application, you need to port the barrel for muzzle flip
if you buy factory ammo. or use reduced loads when handload'n.

I dunno I fired one of the 45/70 derringers a few years back and that was sporting to say the least ;D

I was thinking that it might make for a interesting conversation piece..... ::)

can you say 12 ga 3 inch slugs....... ::)
we did a M2 hb 50 cal beltfed with a 22 inch barrel. If you could get the marshmellows to stay you could have roasted them. It fit right in with my 1919a4 with a 9 inch barrel

I shot with a friend on a pistol league about 15+ yrs ago. He bought one of those for his 10" Contender 45 L.C. He shot quite a bit better with it. The guys running the show said it was unfair to the others and he had to stop using it. I think he stuck his hand through it and didn't hold it on the back like that with the other hand. I think you would want to use it for a pistol.

After a couple more beers you might try it in 45-70. Maybe a revolver?
You may want a healthy wrist band though.

No thanks..................

I shot a full cylinder out of a Freedom Arms 454 once. Can't say it was fun or enjoyable in any way.

I have one of the American Derringer Corp's in 45lc/410. It's not bad. I use 444 cases with bore sized buckshot squashed flat so I can stack them in the case..

It is a 5 yard gun otherwise.
