Nice old French cannon near me.

This one is a French 24 pdr., and there are 6 like it at the US Naval Academy a couple of hours away.

Did you paste the wrong link, or are you saying that you think the cannon in the photo is actually French?
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

I've seen this link, the cannon is definitely a beauty, and I love looking at that type breech face and cascabel.

Now thats one cool looking Breech and Cascabel.. Amazing craftsmanship.. :o
