The Langley's are just outstanding folks. I can't imagine a better place to have taken my grandson.
The camp house is nothing fancy, just an old farmhouse for folks to stay in. It's clean and you'll be the only ones there, the only ones hunting at the ranch and the only ones at the camp house. You will need to bring sleeping bags or bedding, and food. There are a couple of fast food places in Centerville, and a couple of restaurants, but it's about 10 miles to Centerville from the ranch.
THe camp house has a big porch across the front and a nice view across the road. We've seen deer from there a couple of times. Mr Joe will have a camp fire going and he loves the kids. He was the Principal and football coach of the high school there, retired a few years ago. Mrs. Langley was also a school teacher.
They also have a pond, so bring some fishing tackle.
Book your hunt as soon as possible, they stay booked way in advance.
EDIT: Couple more things I thought of ... For $25 they will gut, skin and quarter your hog. Bring a big cooler and stop at the old country store where you turn off the blacktop for some ice. Stop at the store anyway, not many places like it left.
The ranch has two high fence areas to hunt. The larger area is across the road from the Langley's house, it's very thick and very tough hunting. There are some BIG hogs in there that are rarely seen. I've hunted in there twice and have yet to get a decent shot at a hog there. The smaller area is where we've always taken our hogs, the hogs in this area will run between 100 and 200 pounds, and there are usually some nice boars in there.
Mr Langley buys live trapped hogs and puts them into a pen for a while before releasing them into the hunting area. I don't know any details of how long, but he has little pigs in there, so I assume he lets they get up to 100 pounds or so before turning them out in the hunting area. My grandson had a big time watching the hogs in the pen, they would charge at him and hit the fence. Once he realized they couldn't get him, he would try to get the hogs to charge him and chase him up and down the fence.
