But there's something about those two words pronounced together (even though I'm probably mispronouncing them) that sounds nasty:

Seriously folks! I was going to post this photo, but never got to it. Its from a West Indies museum, and it was recovered from a wreck, but I didn't make note of the name of either. I had never seen another example of the solid shot with spikes coming out of it before, so I assumed it was rare, but I guess I was mistaken. I don't really get (pun intended) the point of it, it seems to me that there are better projectiles to shred sail, and tear up rigging; and woudn't the spikes just have a tendency slow it down if it hit wood?
