Duk, your sarcasm is underwhelming.  I don't think that Jesus preached that we accept all conduct in order to be Christians.
Alright...
I seem to recall something about love the sinner, but hate the sin.   ::)

I'd like to see a reference from scripture on that bit of something that you recall. Will you provide it, please?
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

It's not from scripture, but from the writings of St. Augustine. His letter 211 (c. 424) contains the phrase Cum dilectione hominum et odio vitiorum, which translates roughly as "With love for mankind and hatred of sins."

She also believes in the second amendment and has a concealed carry permit.

So what? We had a lesbian Republican mayor for many years. She put this city on firm financial ground, without raising taxes, and was one of the most popular mayors we have ever had. If lesbians can do that, I'll vote for them every time.  ;D
I'm with you on this one. If she does the job well I'd vote for her. What she does with willing partners on her own time is their own biz.

The Apostle Paul, writing by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, declares that homosexuality "shall not inherit the kingdom of God" (I Corinthians 6:9; 10). Now Paul does not single out the homosexual as a special offender. He includes fornicators, idolators, adulterers, thieves, covetous persons, drunkards, revilers and extortioners. And then he adds the comment that some of the Christians at Corinth had been delivered from these very practices: "And such were some of you: But ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the spirit of our God" (I Corinthians 6:11). All of the sins mentioned in this passage are condemned by God, but just as there was hope in Christ for the Corinthians, so is there hope for all of us.  Well scripture seems pretty clear about homosexuality.  It is a sin no worse than others.

yeah, but it's real good for turning out the vote, and giving the repressed homosexuals something to rail about!

That's quite tolerant of you, Yellowtail.  If someone doesn't agree with you, they must be repressed homosexuals.  I knew that regardless of what was pointed out in scripture, you would come in with a snide remark.

Duk, you are very easily amused/impressed.  I really thought you had more wit than that.  Guess I was wrong.  Well, you two boys can giggle over the 8th grade locker room humor and compare size.  Let the men talk.   ::)

In your eagerness to argue and one-up, you've read innuendo where none was intended. But the question still stands. You can answer if you're like.

I don't know the answer, but I suspect that there is something to it, and that a good number of the most vociferously anti-gay folks are themselves repressed homosexuals.

In the last couple years I've stepped back and noticed... that the biggest issue, for many on the political right and the politicized in church, has been... homosexual/gay issues. I think this has been used, disingenuously, by some conservative politicians.

I think many have been suckered by this.

Yet, you presented it as fact when you said:  "and giving the repressed homosexuals something to rail about!"  Interesting.

It's from the writings of a saint.  Or is that not Christian enough for you?

Actually NO, that has far more to do with the catholic church than Christian thought. As I've said before I really don't see anything Christian in the roman catholic church. They strike me as quite pagan.

But as I've said before we are NOT gonna discuss religion on this site again. I ended those forums and we're not gonna move the discussion here. This thread has gone on too long already so it ends now.
