Best CCW CZ and Best production gun.
« on: January 04, 2010, 01:37:21 PM »
Hey guys, Looking to get a CZ handgun for CCW. How do you guys like the 2075RAMI? Looking at it in both the 9mm version and the .40S&W. Also Thinking about getting a Competition pistol. Looking for a production class pistol. Looking either in 9mm, or .45ACP. I already shoot .45ACP so the CZ97 would be sweet, but I am looking at cost wise the 9mm. What do you guys think. For 9mm thinking maybe the CZ SP-01.
When an Army captain asked him for the direction of the line of retreat, Col Puller called his Tank Commander, gave them the Army position, and ordered: "If they start to pull back from that line, even one foot, I want you to open fire on them."
Turning to the captain, he replied "Does that answer your question?
We're here to fight."

I love my RAMI. It is a little thicker than some of the other CCW choices, but my particular 9mm RAMI has cleared the IHMSA 25 yard field pistol chickens... :o  Obviously I got a particularly accurate specimen, but I've heard other reports of exceptional accuracy with these. The only gripe I have is when you load the mag with 10 rounds, it rattles... It feeds, but the rattling unnerves me, so I load 9 in the magazine. Some of the .40 S&W RAMI's initially had feed problems with certain ammo, But I beleive these have been adressed.  Overall the RAMI is an excellent gun.

As for competing in USPSA production, 9mm is what everyone is shooting, due to cost and recoil.. the Shadow has been getting good reviews, but the regular SP-01 or the CZ75 are both awesome guns. It's best to take in a few matches and ask some of the shooters what they think.... Most guys are willing to help you decide, but there will be those who feel there is only one brand of pistol in the world.... avoid those guys!! HAVE FUN!!

My new carry gun is the CZ82 in 9mm mak.  I been going smaller and smaller size wise but still want the firepower so the cz82 with two 12rd mags is great right now for CCW and i like the double action first shot too so there's no need to carry it cocked & locked.  I just need it chambered.

The CZ75/85 is a tad larger size wise and its a 16rd after market mag in 9mm luger.  Its also nice with the double action first shot feature too.

The CZ83 is the newer version of the CZ82 but there pretty much the same pistol but it comes in 9mm mak, 380acp and 32acp too.

The CZ75 pistol is the first choice of the russian special ops.

The bottomline is I think with any CZ model you pick it will serve you well and fill your needs.  Mine have been flawless and the CZ quality is awesome and hard to beat.  I don't think there is another pistol that can match the CZ quality.  It took me many years(over 25) to find a 9mm luger pistol that i liked amd i'm glad i chose the CZ's.

BTW:  I did go up two sizes stronger on the recoil springs on my CZ83's and my CZ85.  (wolf springs)
