Sighting in my pistol
« on: October 28, 2003, 10:55:58 AM »
I finally got my encore 7mm-08 set up with a 2x7 burris.  I am going to sight it in on Friday.  I was going to sight it in at 100yrds about 1.5 inches high.

Does this sound ideal?

Or should i sight it in dead on at 100yrds.

Most shots are probably gonna be under 100yrds.  Might take a 150 yrd shot out of a box stand which has good rests built in around the edges of the stand.

What do yall think??

2 inches high at 100 should be good for most shooting.

yeah, 1 1/2" - 2" high should be perfect. thats what i like anyway. anything short range isn't going to matter, but you will have extended range without holdover.
great setup! i have the 15" 7-08 encore/3x12 burris, and 30-30 AI contender/2x7 burris. my DEER rigs! 8)

I resently I read an article that the gov sites in their 308 dead on at 25 yards and it is dead on again at 225.  It is like 2.5 inches high at the most.  I imagine you ballistics are similar to the 308.
