started barrel break-in today

finally ,shrugged of the cold and went to fire a few rounds with the new 22-250 t/c barrel. only shot 7 shots. 1st 5 had a swab run through the barrel after each shot and when i saw i was gettin' close to the bullseye ,(30 yd.s or so) i shot a little farther (100+yd) and so,with me shiverin' pretty bad ,think i'd still popped a groundhog...  next warm day(28 degrees or more ) i'll dial it in a little better

Barrels don't need breaking in.  It's a waste of time & ammo.

Here we go.    It's his choice to do a break in . I know alot of people that do. 
Do I yes.  I shoot it take it home and clean it and repeat.   Thats My break in on most all Barrels.    I should say that I do Give new Barrels about 100 to 200 strokes with JB paste and clean good first Before shooting.

Did remington buy t/c swampy, or are you just an expert at everything? Pretty sure he is talking about an encore 22-250 barrel, not a remmy 30/06.    Go to bed, don't forget your meds tomorrow.

  ah' i figured since i had to zero the scope in ,i'd take my time and start each shot with a clean barrel, first shot ,i was on paper ,so it was'nt like i wasted any ammo,,had it clicked in on target in the first 5,and the last 2 were long distance shots and since they were right on the mark,,the 7 bullets i shot were indeed wasted ,because i did'nt draw blood on a shot. now ,today a little later when i get rid of the cold jitters ,i'm goin' out lookin' to draw blood on some coyotes

Well I guess you don't know how hard it is to ware out the rifling, but you can clean it, and shoot it all you want but on a 22-250 shooting hot loads will burn out the throat long before you will harm the rifling.did you know that swampy? check it out you might learn something you don't know! 1/2 life @ 200 swabs give me a break!!!
