Alright  - the Prez made a political appointment, like all presidents That linked article says she used to be the Deputy Director in Advanced Technology Development at Raytheon Missile Systems. Her newly appointed position is to be a Senior Technical Advisor to the Commerce Department.

Qualified, or not?

how so?  I can't say one way or the other with confidence, not knowing with certainly exactly what a Senior Technical Adviser does, but it does sound like she has a technical background. What do you think?

I don't know that they are - I said as much - but Deputy Director in Advanced Technology Development and Senior Technical Advisor sound like they might have some overlap. What do yo think?

BUT IF WE GET right down to it... I don't thing the thread originator particularly cared one way or another how qualified the appointee was... but was concerned with something other than competence, experience, or qualification.

   NOT...
   As far as I am concerned, anyone who goes through that gender "struggle" and resorts to getting their body carved up instead of at least trying to first get their head squared away...already has serious mental problems.  I would suggest then, that serious mental problems should make one unqualified for an important govt post.
     ....Bt by that standard we should fire at least half of the congress.. ;) :D ;D :P
