Henry Little Big Boy 327 Carbine

Has the time arrived for Henry to a make one of these?

I’ve always been a fan of the 32-20 cartridge in lever action rifles (actually any cartridge with a dash in it is neat), and today the market for a lighter recoiling, 32 caliber, short barreled, fast lever action would be the sweetest rifle package to compliment the heavier hitting lever actions already available.

With Ruger just announcing more offerings in 327 Federal Magnum this week, it seems to be a cartridge that is here to stay; yet nobody has stepped up to the plate to offer it in a lever action.  Being able to chamber 32 S&W short, long, and 32 H&R Mag gives the chambering some flexibility too.

In my dreams, here are the specs:

-   327 Federal Magnum chambering (Classic 32 cal in a modern easy-to-reload cartridge)
-   Carbine barrel length.   18” would be nice.  Shorter the better.  ;D
-   7.0-7.5 lbs.  Balanced weight with stay-on-target pointability.
-   Marbles rear tang mounted fold-down aperture sight.  Classic looks, yet easy on the eyes to use.
-   The classic Big Boy brass and octagon barrel with that quality picked Henry wood.
-   Swivel sling mounts.

So, what do you think?  Does this stir anyone’s imagination?

I asked Henry the same thing a few short weeks ago.The response was not in the works as a new caliber offering.I wanted a levergun in .32HR before Marlin came out with their offering.Even talked to a gunsmith about what it would take to make one up.Then when Marlin came out with the cowboy model in .32HR.I didn't have the cash for "want" things.Now they are very hard to find.I have not seen one for sale used at all.

I just sent an e-mail to Henry also.   Anthony Imperato, the Pres, replied and thanked me for the suggestion.  He also CC'd the note to someone else in their company.

Can't hurt to let them know what you want.  Ruger does it all the time; in fact, insists upon it.
