It sure is. It's kind of funny- I normally don't care for the look of the Mannlicher stock, but I love the stainless 10/22 with the laminate Mannlicher stock!

I have one of those myself. I seldom buy guns at WallyWorld but was participating(reluctantly) in the weekly pilgramage and happened to walk by sporting goods.. I took asked for the rifle and my lovely wife showed up. I really like mannlicher stocked ridles and so told her that she could buy the rifle for my Christmas and birthday (late January) or I would buy the rifle myself. Eitherway it was coming home with us that night.. She reccognized the attitude(rare!!) and said happy christmas and birthday. I mounted a stainless Bushnell and love the little rifle a lot. It's not the most accurate I own but it sure is fun to shoot.

I bought on years ago from WallyWorld. The box was original marked $260.00,then marked down to $200.00. Anyway, when I looked at it, there was a red dot on the price tag. $125.00 in the box with a Ruger marked sling to boot. Mine has a simmons 22MAG 3X9 in silver.

When my dad died 3 years ago, I got his.  It's a decent shooter but I HATE that stock.  Bought a new regular wood take-off on e-bay and put it on today.  That stainless sure looks purty, but now it won't hit a bull in the @$$ twice.  I've heard that the Manlicher stock was less accurate.  Does the barrel band on the normal wood affect the barrel (not free floated)?  It's a pretty tight fit in both the action and barrel channel, but I'm talking minute of pie plate accuracy at 50 yards now.  With the Manlicher, I could pop chipmunks pretty regular at 35 yds (when they held still long enough) :-X

I guess I'm old fashioned, but I think that a Mannlicher stock not in walnut on a rifle not blued just looks wrong.  I have one that is more traditional (wood/blued) that I bought from Academy Sports in '95 or thereabouts.  First gun I ever purchased.  I love mine.
