In any but the firearms business they would be very close to a monopoly but i don't think the government will fool with them because the people behind the curtain are Cerberus capitol the same folks that bought Chrysler back  from the Europeans. They are international money people and bear careful watching.
the nation that forgets it defenders will itself be forgotten

If I'm not mistaken, the originater of Barnes Bullets stopped production ( they were basiclly hand-made bullets ), and much later Randy Brooks bought the rights to the company, making both the "originals", and later, the "X", etc.

I have mixed feelings about all these buy outs of the various firearms and related companies. If someone buys them who is both pro gun and very well financed then I can see a lot of potential good coming of it.

BUT if they are either not well financed or not pro gun I can see where it could potentially fold the entire firearms manufacturing and support network in this country.

At the moment it appears both conglomerates are fairly solidly financed and on the surface both seem more or less pro gun but as we know our enemies often try to make themselves look like our friends at least initially. So it kinda bothers me more than comforts me that so many of "our eggs are being placed in so few baskets" so to speak. I fear this is a well planned and well financed move by the super rich cabal who are working toward a one world government to remove our guns and our ammo so we're not in a position to fight back to stop what they have planned for us.

I'd rather have had these companies stay independent and more privately owned by individuals known to be pro gun.

If this now means we can get green box ammo loaded with TSX bullets, I won't be disappointed.

Another +1 to what GB said.   All these buy outs could just be part of a bigger plot to gain control of the gun and ammo industry.   Once they have all the big players in there grasp they may make the announcement that they will sell to military and law enforcement agencies only (i.e.: government) there will be no more sales to private individuals.   >:(

Just because I'm paranoid does not mean my government is not out to get me.  ;)

That's the beauty of the free market though.  If they do that, an opportunity opens for someone who will sell to private individuals, and if there's a market for that (which there obviously is) then they'll make plenty of money.

You basically only have to fear legislation in this regard.  Capitalism itself will solve any "we don't wanna sell to you" situations that arise.

As you posted, if and only if private sale is still allowed....there's the rub.
