Alaska?
« on: January 06, 2010, 03:58:14 PM »
Did I fall asleep in Ga. and wake up in Alaska?  Sourdough came South and brought the cold with him.  I would move to Florida, but it's cold too.  Wonder how Cuba is?  A handful of Ga. boys with Handi rifles could probably take that place over. ;D :D

We got down to -19 last night, -8 right now at the house.  Weatherman is talking 40's again by the weekend and first part of next week.  Also got about 9" of new snow on top of the 3-4" left from the last snow.  Sorry to let the cold slip down your way guys, :-[ we'll try to keep it a little farther north for the rest of the winter. ;D  DP

Around here they are saying the last time was in the '40s. Since I didn't hear what year in the '40s I dunno if it was before or after I was born in '45 but even if after I'd have been too young to remember it. So for my life time this is indeed the longest cold spell we've seen.

I've seen colder but never for this long at a time has it been this cold in my life time. Dang I'm glad Al has that global warming working for us.

Monday so they say. Sunday we're supposed to rise above freezing again for the first time in a few days but on Monday they are predicting mid 40s then high 40s for Tuesday's high.

Last night on the weather report they said the wind chill would be near zero all weekend.

It's 15 here and I hear the wind chimes singing to me so I expect our wind chill like yours is down there darn near the zero mark. It just ain't supposed to be like this down here.

21 here in Titus but the wind chill makes it feel like 9. Kinda sorta brisk.
