10/22 scope base adapter

I just got my 10/22 international back from my brother in law.

I am trying to mount a sweet 22 BSA on it and the weaver base I have does not give me comfortable eye relief.  

I seem to remember a 3/8 base adapter came from the factory  when I bought it.Am I right or is my mind going ?

My thought is to use the 3/8 rings so I can move the scope back a little,and not have to buy another  expensive base and ring set.



Or does anyone have a better souloution for me to try?

An adapter or base came with my new 10/22.  You can also buy the base.  It should take Weaver style centerfire rings and rimfire tip off rings.

  I hate to admit to this,but I just realized that the Weaver mount I have has a nice little feature of accomadating both types of rings.
All I can say is ......DUH! What pretty little lines you have!
I am so glad no one pointed this out to me.It was bad enough finding out on my own.
