Leupold price increase
« on: October 29, 2003, 09:35:14 AM »
I sent a nasty gram to Leupold and Cabela's just a few minutes ago. We can take it or put the squeeze on them. Buy elsewhere and let Leupold, Cabela's, and Bass Pro know you did and why. They understand losing money faster than complaints. Dave

This is Cabela's response:

Hello David,  Thanks for the Email.  While Cabelas does carry and sell the Leupold brand.  We honestly have no control over their pricing and have no influence over what Leupold may do.
Have a good day.

So why did Leupold demand the online stores to increase their prices?

At this point, all I can say is that I am NEVER going to buy another Leupold product again.  Leupold's arrogance is just unjustified (not that arrogance can never really be justified, but you guys know what I mean.)

See Ya Later Leupold!!!

I wonder if cabelas etc... will ever have them on sale?  Sounds like they could not do that unless it was Leupolds idea.  I hate big business when it gets out of control.

Long, I think it's the other way around... Cabela's idea since Leupold is getting their money anyway. I would believe Cabela's would be getting a better price from Leupold because of the volume they sell.

I can guarantee that Cabelas and Bass Pro are getting their Leupold's cheaper.  They are allowed to buy direct from Leupold, while I have to go thru a distributor.  Since we must go to the same prices, why not let everyone buy direct from Leupold.  Good idea, but will never happen.
