Yeah this is a RANT and yeah it's about the stupid football game of all things.

Tonight I was all settled in watching one of my favorite TV shows "Ghost Whisperer" when they interuppted the show for a SPECIAL REPORT. What you might ask? Well they showed the blasted Alabama football team walk down the ramp off the airplane and go straight to waiting buses and drive off. No time with the crowd no nothing but one black dude running up and down the fence separting them slapping hands with his fans I guess then running to catch up to the buses about to leave him.

Several hundred folks stood in the bitter cold and high winds for HOURS waiting to watch the spectacle of the players walk off a plane into buses and leave. How blasted STUPID can you be?

So why the rant? Cuz dang blast it I missed at least ten minutes of one of my favorite show over a bunch of stupid football players who didn't even show the crowd the curtesty to wave at them as they got on the buses and left after they had froze their butts off waiting.

GRR, I'm gonna run for Dictator of the US next election and the first thing I'm gonna do when I'm in charge is to banish all forums of ballgames from this nation.

Obviously you've never seen the show and the gal who talks to the ghosts. The only better looking woman on TV I'm aware of is the one on Legend of the Seeker. Both are beautiful women and both shows have excellent plots of interest to me. Ball games of all sorts hold zero interest to me. I'd rather watch paint dry.

I'm amazed that it's as popular as it is. I tried to watch a few NFL games, but there's so much talk from the commentators and so many commercials that the continuity of the game is destroyed. So I can't really get into it. But obviously there are a lot of people who consider it important, so more power to them. My favorite football games are high school games. It's pure sport, and it is enjoyable to watch.

Shocking as it may seem to some, soccer is a great spectator game too. It's not a high scoring game, but that's part of the charm. When a goal is made it becomes something to talk about.

I went to a professional baseball game not too long ago. It was pretty good there in the stadium. A good social event.

Cant watch the Ghost stuff GB it gives me nightmares!

But now the Football stuff does too at times!

I like college ball, the pros, well there are a few too many attitudes there and after all there is no I in Team. And whats with the tattoos, Seems like sky writing at night!

"Real" fans puzzle me like that, They seem to enjoy putting players on a pedestal and expect to be ignored by them!

My wife watches ghost whisperer ever day. I haven't watched a baseball game since those spoiled brat millionaires cancelled the world series, don't like football. Used to be if a program was interrupted it was an emergency, not anymore. POWDERMAN.

i watch the highlights on the news ..as to ghost whisperer.that type show is my wifes cup o tea..
as to the pretty women .. man i can still appreciate that also..but i m careful about sayin anything aboutum being pretty..i ll fool around an catch a wicked left elbo in the side from you know who. :)slim

If a ball game (any kinda ball even a goofy golf ball) is on they'll keep it on and you'll miss whatever programing was supposed to be on no matter how long it carries over its assigned time slot. They wouldn't interupt a ball game to tell you that the country is now at war and we're being invaded or bombed into nonexistence. But they'll interupt any other kinda programing to show a bunch of spoiled brat ball players walk off an airplane and onto buses. That could just as easily have waited for the 10:00 news.

I wish they'd have lost perhaps then my show wouldn't have been broken into to show them coming home with their tail between their legs in shame. Now I agree it's no real big deal that I missed ten minutes of a TV show even tho I do enjoy one more when I get to see all not just part of it even tho that missed part was kind of the key to the entire 60 minute show. BUT that Americans have become so engrossed in the idea of "sports" whether a ball game a race or whatever is a big deal. We've forgotten what's important and allow politicians to do whatever they want so long as they allow the ball games to go on. Geez no wonder the country is in the mess it is.

I have two points to make about this thread.

1. I've watched Ghost Whisperer and in my opinion it is a rather good show. I can understand GB's attraction to the star of the show: Jennifer Love Hewitt. She is a living doll:

2. Now, the most important point. The NFL Playoffs Start Today!! I can't wait for 3:00 PM Central

Not in my opinion. We DVR Ghost Whisperer so we don't miss it.

She is definately beautiful!!! But if the Eagles get stomped by those darned Cowboys for a third time this season I think I'm going to hit myself in the head with a claw hammer. Claw first!

exactly. i don't have a problem with sports or people enjoying them(although i have no interest) it is the attitude that alot of people seem to have toward them.

Bill I'm very sorry our Quarterback got hurt at the beginning of the game. It's our fault you missed ten minutes of your show. Had Colt no got his arm hurt, you would not have even known when the Alabama team got home. They would have lost. Also was that referee that didn't call pass interference on Alabama two or three times on the same plane with the Alabama team?

The guys at work start talking football or baseball and I find something better to do. All this...."well my team is better because of this" and "such and such is the greatest player ever". And it's the same blame conversation every time. They just mix up the order a little. I like a good boxing match. But unfortunately there hasn't been many of them around since the retirement of "Irish" Mickey Ward.

she is widely known as jennifer love huge ****. and she is something else. the show itself holds no interest for me, but i can understand watching it just to watch jennifer.
there was a movie she starred in with jamie lee curtis and gene hackman, where she played a con woman and jame lee played her mother who was a con woman too, and in that movie you can see just how B-E-A-U-TEE-FUL she really is. and from what i hear, she is a nice person as well.

It's a great show. My wife really likes it and she has no interest in Ms. Hewitt.

I put most sports in the same category as treating dogs/pets like humans. Our society has lost touch with what matters.

TV isn't much better, but perhaps it causes us to think a little.

Dang Bill! You need to get out more in the great outdoors. That little gal that talks to spooks, has you thinkin funny! Next thing ya know you'll be watchin that blond girl that lies in bed with her husband and has visions, and keeps him from getting any sleep. You know! The one that's psycho, or psychic.Solves all those cases for the police. Try watching NCIS. They do have a couple of men on that show, and the girl don't look bad either!

When on,I'd rather tear down one of my other computers,and rebuild it.
Or check out the other O.S.s to see if I like it or not.

nw_hunter actually I do watch both those other shows Medium and NCIS. At the time they come on at night there ain't much to be doing outside and as cold as it is these days I AIN'T going out in day time much less at night.

I just wish the hunting/shooting sports got 1/100th the free press that ballgames get ! That would be a greater assurance that our main sport would survive and our gun ownership not be threatened.

Nope honestly can't say it does anything for me. Football (any kinda ball game really) has less than zero meaning to me. If no one ever played another ball game of any sort ever again I'd not shed a tear in fact I think I'd shout for joy knowing I didn't have to listen to the BS about it again.
