My Snider is a MkIII cavalry carbine, British not Nepalese, and 'broadarrow' marked. The thumb sized cartridges are impressive, though small in this thread. I shoot .590ish round balls with great effect on my steel clangers at 50yd. I have no doubt that a whitetail deer would not last long with a decent hit. Yes, it would be deadly farther out, but with my eyes and the mil-sights, well, a man's got to know his limitations.
It is great fun, and appeals to me more than a 'trapdoor' Springfield in 45-70.
