GP100, old grip or new Hogue mono

My GP100 wears the old style rubber w/wood insert. I just ordered a new set of Hogue Mono, (standard grip for the new guns.) Wondering how people like the Hogue grips. They are alittle smaller. What are your opinions.

 The grip must fit you , the smaller the gun and the harder it kicks , the more important this is.............
 The hogue is rounder than the factory an I like it better.[I shoot only mags in mine]

i like the new grips i got mine when they had the other grips to me the hogue grips feel better

I like the original GP100 grips, the Hogues are a little small for my hands. Does the GP 100 take the same grip as the Super Redhawk?

i tried the hogue went back to the  factory ,  they were a bitto small and i like the look  of the factory better

I'm going to hang on to the factor grips. I put on the Mono. The factory grips are one piece and slide off. My first GP100, (1990,) had two piece grips. In fact I still have those grips. When I turned that gun in it wore the pach presentation grips.

Finally made it to the range today. I like these grips allot. Good fit and they feel nice. I shot two boxes of magnums without a hitch. They are smaller than the old factory and produce alittle more recoil, but I like them.

By the way, I bought some S&B 158 grain SP. The advertised velocity and ft. lbs is BS. They shoot like 38 specials. The cheapo blazer (1250fps,) has more recoil than S&B.

The two piece grips I have in the gun safe are from my 4inch GP100 which I had in 1990.  I think the two piece are for a round butt GP100, (typically a three inch.) I like the Hogue grips so much I may try to sell the other grips as a pair.

I understand what you are saying about a 3" GP having a different grip.  However I believe that it is only the grip, and not the frame, that is different (in contrast to a "round butt" K-frame S&W).  In other words, a 3" GP comes with a "compact" grip, but it will still accept the standard factory grip, either the discontinued style or the newer Hogue style.  Likewise, you can put a compact grip on a 4" or 6" GP (or a Super Redhawk, for that matter).

Two piece compact grip?  That I don't know about.  The grip on my 1988 vintage 3" GP is just like the standard grip (one-piece construction with wood inserts), but smaller.

Trying to figure it out. My 4 inch 1990 GP100 had a two piece factory grip (rubber with wood insert.) When I got ride of it I had Pachs on it and kept the factory grips.

Read somewhere about a round but 3inch with two piece grip. I didn't even know there was a one piece grip until I got this 6inch SS a few years ago.
