Depends on how much you can afford. The CVA barrel will morethan likely be used unless you want to sink more money in a "built" barrel than probably what the rifle is worth.
I have a T/C Renegade with a .50 and a .45 barrel and love them both, but I think I'll have to start taking steroids if I wanted a smaller caliber. I doubt the Hawken with a 15/16" barrel will gain you much going to a .32, but they are probably the easiest to find as a "drop-in" barrel.
I wanted a small-bore as well and just picked up a T/C Seneca in .36.
They are hard to find and expensive, but they're perfect if you only want a .45 and a .32. They were only offered in these three calibers (.32, .36, .45) but are light and easy to handle. Just expect to have over $500 in aused rifle with spare barrel. The Cherokee by T/C is another option, but just as hard to find available.
