Sorry I can't help but I can make a suggesdtion.  How about a visit to some local gun shops?  If they don't have smiths who work for them they can usually point you at some of the local talent.  Most won't steer you wrong as they can't afford to make enemies or loose customers.  You may also try contacting the local gun club.  The guys who run these are usually gun cranks and can also point you at a smith..  You should also know that you can ship your firearm to a smith or the factory for work without going thru a dealer.  Even if the smith is out of state.  Also, the gun can be returned directly to you...although the USPS won't handle handguns, use FedEx for them.  UPS will charge a premium rate for tranporting handguns and since the UPS has shown some anti-gun bias I refuse to use them if at all possible.  Good luck!

DirtyHarry,

   1. What part of the state are you in(I'm in the NE)?
   2. What type of work do you need done?

I should be able to point you to a reputible Smith, but since most of them specialize,  I need to know what you want done. :-)
