 I got a 2-7 3200 elite almost a year ago and really like it. Now I am looking for another elite for a 22-250 for varmit hunting. Can't decide between the 5-15 3200 or maybe a 4-16 4200. I've never looked through a 4200, but reading reviews online, seems most users are very happy with them. So is the 4200 worth the extra bucks? Are they that much clearer than the 3200? Give me your thoughts on both.

Get the 7-21 E3200. It is a cut above the others. Trust me you'll like it.

The only real difference I see in my 3200 3x9x50 and my 4200 2.5x10x50 is the 4200 has a much larger field of view.As far as tracking and performance,both work really well.I also have a Zeiss Conquest 3x9x50 and I like my 4200 better.Natchez has the 2.5x10x50 with the Firefly reticle(also my favorite reticle) on sale right now for $329.00 which is a purty darn good price.What ever you chose in the Elite line,I think you will be quite happy with it.

I have the 3200, 4200 and 6500. To be absolutely honest my eyes do not notice much difference between any of them. I have 2/7*32 on my 45/70 which is my primary woods gun. I can see through the scope long after my eyes see nothing, IE. past legal hunting time. That scope is a 3200 and it has never failed me. I started with the Elites because of the Rainguard. This works for rain and also frozen breath when it is cold, I love these scopes.

No opinion about brand, but depending on the varmit you are hunting, you might consider the lower magnifiction.
Sounds like varmits out west are small and far away.  I think varmits in the east are larger and closer.
I have a 22-250 with a nice 6-18 with AO. In hindsight, I think I would have gotten more utility out of a 4-14 for what I call varmits in Alabama; coyotes, foxes, bobcats...

Well I picked up a used 3-9x40 elite 4200 for one of my deer rifles.It looks great,and I may put it on the 22-250 till fall,then look at G.B.s 7-21 e3200 to put on it for good.
