BRIAN. On katrina Pat wasn't the only preacher saying that. A local preacher on tv, one of the biggest churches in Lou said that it was Gods punishment on America for our coercing and pushing Israel into giving up more of their land to the Godless ones. Gotta admit, the timing was right. POWDERMAN.
I'm sure there were several ministers saying we asked for it, each with his own spin. The same type thing has probably been going on since time began. I'm not a big church-goer, but aren't we judged for our actions
after we die?
"Their" land? Not sure how that works. It is in the area of the Biblical country, but was not created until 1947. I'm pretty sure if God was gonna step in and protect Israelites, he probably would have taken care of it a few thousand years ago.
If God is gonna put a wholesale smackdown on folks for their actions here on earth, why do countries like Iran and Iraq even exist? Why didn't he wipe out all Nazi's with a terrible storm or earthquake when they executed 9 million jews? Or better yet,
before they did it?
When it comes to epidemics, natural disasters and the like, some "religious" leaders just have a hard time understanding the old phrase "Sh*t Happens." Instead, they assign blame and use it to further their agenda.
Oh well, I guess the world needs all kinds.
