Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Not being a Bush fan, I still have a hard time blaming him for much of anything there.  Just gotta be fair and forget my dislikes.
that's fair... plenty of other haters will do the blaming of Dubya

Really though...no matter what any of us think about this political disaster type stuff...the hard fact is we have no money to give them at all...nothing, nadda, all gone..and trillions in debt...so in theory we should not print and give them a dime, anymore than the average citizen could afford to offer his neighbor to pay his house off in hard times...while he himself is out of work.  So I guess giving money we never have is a political thing as well...all in the name of looking good.
'all in the name of looking good' isn't what emergency aid to Haiti is about. There are many thousands in extremis there, right now, and we're close by with the resources to help, budget deficit or  no. Your argument could be used to fire every DoJ lawyer tomorrow (not a bad start to dismantling the beast)

Here is something folks can do as a private effort: text a donation, it'll go on your phone bill. No credit card company taking a cut.

    Yellowtail  You're a real winner;
  First, in your post 35 you rail at me because I said  America would likely be the "first with the most"..aiding Haiti..you insinuate that I was not being truthful about how Americans are leaders in helping other nations. Then, in quoted posts above, you tell about some of the help raised here..and to further demonstrate your quixotic nature , in the post immediately above you try to tell us where to send help..
  We Americans will help, but we don't need a lot of guff and spewing from the peanut gallery.

You're over-sensitive and misreading

The US does spend a lot of money on foreign aid - though we're by no means alone in that. No need to trumpet it.

knock down your own strawmen

Thanks for the Winner prize; I'll take whatever I can get.

 yellowtail;
       I only pointed out that fact because some here for some esoteric reason, can find very little right with the USA. I believe that for many of us there is much to applaud the USA for..
   Certainly, we're not alone, mother nations have helped also..but when all is said and done with that disaster I suspect with all our economic problems being exacerbated more each day by the Obama administration, the folks in the good old USA are still some opf the giving-est people in the world.
  Geraldo mentioned several other countries which were helping also, not the least of which was Israel..who is furnishing a complete field hospital with 40 doctors..he didn't mention if Israel's chief antagonist, Palestine, had set up a hospital.
  Charitable organizations such as the Salvation Army  and Franklin Graham's "Samaritan's Purse" were also busy there.

I'd be surprised if they did; they don't have anywhere near the resources that the Isrealis do.

Long list of countries and their help here:

Governments:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humanitarian_response_by_national_governments_to_the_2010_Haiti_earthquake

Non-government
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Response_to_the_2010_Haiti_earthquake

Private companies in US and Canada have individually donated more than most countries.

       .............he didn't mention if Israel's chief antagonist, Palestine, had set up a hospital.

That could only happen with Israels express permission which would never be forthcoming IMO

no flame intended, POWDERMAN, but you don't have a clue - lots of charity work/aid by organizations in Islamic countries.

considering every gal of fuel, every dollar and  anything of value first goes through Israeli's hands it would be impossible for them to do anything without approval.
