Is there any special things to look out for when I am mounting Zee rings and a scope?  I have gotten to the point of having the base and bottom of the rings installed.  Before I tighten the top, I thought I would ask.  By the way, how tight is tight?

Possum,
An old Navy Chief once told me he was going to "spot torque" some bolts. I asked him what he meant, he said he'd just pull until he saw spots and that would be tight enough. I wouldn't recommend you go that tight with your scope! The instructions in the package are pretty good, but the question of how tight is tight enough remains. You want them tight enough that the scope doesn't slip, but not so tight that you damage the scope. It's a feel thing, unlike cars there are no torque specs that I've ever seen for rings and bases. Not much help I know.
