Dumb question...

...sorry...not an expert and not much of a shotgunner...does an 870 barrel fit or work on an 1100??  I'd like to build a tac autoloader in 20ga and really like the rem 870 Express 7 round and want to build the same gun.    http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/model-870/model-870-express-synthetic-7-round.aspx

Nope, they don't interchange.  The 1100 barrels have a hole drilled for the gas port - and other differences.

Should be easy to make an 1100 version of that tac gun.  Shorten your barrel (or buy a short 1100 barrel) and add on a magazine extension to hold however many rounds you want!

I think it would be a nice little house gun!

Drat!!!  I really like the look of that 870...yep...I'll do as you suggest...thanks for the time.

About the only think common to them is the brand name on the barrel. No closer to a fit than would a barrel off another brand.

Took me a minute to figger out where you were going cause I could not open the link ( Stone age connection) but then i did see the 870, looks good, And you have the definitive answer!    ......I made one with my old 1100 12 guage with a skeet barrel I had and an extension, looks just like th 870 but in a 1100. I would hate to face that gun in a dark place!

One more thing I DON'T need...but...what fun would that be...maybe a project gun!!!   I handled that REM in the post in the 20ga, kinda nice...no real purpose in mind...just kewl!
