Just finished trying to get a score out of my 4 targets. Nothing impressive I can tell you that but it was sure a lot of fun. I did run some rounds over the chrony and it was interesting. 171 grain Lee .490 RB with a 44 mag case worth of FF, about 38 grains, out of a 7 inch barrel and they are running right around 850 fps. I can tell you one thing about chronographing these things and that is my chrony recorded a lot of errors. I guess it didn't care much for the muzzle blast and the cloth patch flying over it. Anyways, my best score was  38 discounting one of the six shots. I will be shipping the target off to DD after I get back from a fishing trip next week and hopefully the rest of you that are participating in this first ever U.S. version of the SAMCC event will get your scores posted as well.
The barrels on both of my little cannons are pretty rough and makes me think I probably need to get a barrel from one of our sponsors for next years postal. Probably won't make me shoot a better score but would be a hoot to get.
 Good shooting to you all,,,,Walt

I have lived in Houston.  In fact I   have lived all over the Country-Hawaii, Oregon, Northern California, Southern California, Arizona, West Texas, New Mexico, Virginia and  of course  Montana.

Using my heat comfort-hunting-shooting-livability index scaling here is how I rate.

1.  Montana
2.  Oregon-Southern
3.  Arizona
4   New Mexico
5.  West Texas
6.  Hawaii
7.
8.  Virginia-Northern-beltway region
9.
10. Northern California
11.
12. Southern California
13. Houston

Sorry Zulu, the only reason Houston drops below SoCal is that oppressive weather-heat.

I'll take Montana's two or three months of sub freezing weather over Houston's 8 months plus of soaking  high humidity any day.

Down side, I live in the city, so  can't shoot cannons in the city even for the forth of July, I have to go 200 yards down to the end of the street to the RV park to shoot or drive 6 miles out to the gun club.  But the club is moving to the the Airport, 2 miles away.

And it's maybe a whole mile between the Entering Cut Bank and Leaving Cut Bank signs.   ;D

You  could live in a town like mine. A few stop signs, 2 bars and that's about it. Oh, forgot it has a volanteer fire/ambulance. Closest "real" town is 7 miles away.It has a McDonalds and a grocery store and a couple stop lights and a few brothels..

Yes indeed 2 targets. Thanks for "Reminding" me.
I sent only one of the targets and now must find my other, not so stellar, target to send in to DD.
Hope all that are participating remember to send in Two targets with 6 holes in each and hopefully at least 5 holes that are scoreable.
  Good shooting,

Walt,

We won't be using handicap this shoot, but the next postal will be handicapped based on the shoot. So low score now, big score next year.

If you can't find the other target let me know and I will get you another ASAP!

Whhhhaaaaaaaa, holy moley, tempus fugit! I gotta get my tail in gear.
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.
