CZ American trigger ?
« on: January 17, 2010, 01:49:13 PM »
I am looking at a CZ American in 22-250. Does the American have the set trigger and does it shoot like the CZ527. Thanks, Don

Thanks, the gun I looked at, is at Gander Mountain, and they have trigger locks on their guns. Don

Don, my 527 American in .204 has the set trigger; the 1st set trigger I ever fired, and I love it. It shoots much better than I can, and I can see the hits (almost instantaneous, even at 250 yds). I havn't read any negatives about this rifle. Good luck,
Steve

I have a CZ 527 and a 550 American.  They both have set triggers and both shoot sub moa when I do my part.  I just bought a 527 carbine in 7.62X39 and have just finished mounting a scope on it and adjusting the trigger.  When I got it the trigger had a lot of creep with some rough spots as well as some over travel.  Fortunately the trigger is adjustable for weight, take-up and over travel.  A few minutes adjusting and trying the trigger and it now has a crisp 2.5 pound let off that breaks like glass with no over travel.  By the way I set the set trigger for a nice crisp six ounce let off.  I love the CZ triggers and they shoot well too.
