Pictures of Ronan
« on: January 18, 2010, 03:23:24 PM »
Could someone post pictures that live around Ronan? I plan to go there sometime to visit with a friend and maybe hunt with him.
Thanks,
Chris Kiefner

Chris,

I cut your post out of the Pictures topic.  The at is more a general all Montana Travelog post.

You are  looking for a specific location and people might not notice. I put it her where people ar more likely to see it.

Haven't been ther my self, so can't offer a picture.

Some one will see it in and be along in a bit to help you.

Many pictures under google search, just type in Mission Mountains - Pictures and you will see much.

See I told you somebody would come along sooner or later....looks like it might be a nice place if the mountains didn't block the view!  :)

Yeah, get rid of the mountains so you can see the view and cut down all the trees so you can see the critters.

I think the mountains really make the picture. I appreciate you posting those for me.

I was through Ronan today, first time I have been down there.  I knew but did not realize it is on the Flathead Reservation.  Can a non tribe member hunt game of the reservation.

hunting [bird ] allowed with a permit, not sure about deer etc unless with a guide

Years ago two guys bought the bird permit and were asking the locals on res where to hunt. Two wise n' himers directed them to the base of the missions in a known griz area . The griz would come in the fall and eat ladybugs in the dead pins.
Anyway , those two hunters blasted the attacking griz with bird shot and the DNR went in . I beleive the wardens shot 2 or three griz that were attacking. Not for the faint of heart!
Hunting is good there but I would not hunt the high Missions ,many bear there in fall.

would love to hunt with Dan, elk would be pretty nice but I would settle for just about anything. Just seeing that part of the country is worth the trip.
